Emerald

Building EMERALD provided a unique opportunity to create a boat for an influential figure in the marine industry, and a good friend. Shep McKenney created the wildly successful Hinckley Picnic boats, and later went on to start a company that later became Seakeeper, revolutionizing recreational boating with gyro stabilization.  EMERALD would encompass all that was learned during those projects into a head turning work of art, combining traditional lines with cutting edge technology. Built using closed cell foam and light laminates in epoxy resin, EMERALD’s 28’4” hull weighs in at about 7,000 pounds. She has a beam of 8’6” and 20” of draft. Her single 300 HP outboard powers her at 40 knots.
