31' Downeast Cruiser

The Z31 is a small sister to our successful Z36 design. Both boats were designed by Spencer Lincoln based on working Downeast lobster boats. The 31 is intended as a weekender and as a boat capable of more extended cruises.

The main cabin is the focal point of these boats. While underway the two Stidd chairs mean that two people can enjoy the ride, facing forward with excellent visibility. While underway, you feel like you are in a pilothouse, but when the anchor drops these chairs turn around and drop down, adding two comfortable chairs to the saloon.

The 31 features a galley up design, with a settee on the port side.

Going below, the head is to starboard, with a larger hanging locker and storage area opposite.

The forward cabin has an ample vee berth, with two opening portholes and a 24” x 24” overhead hatch.

The 31 is powered with a 355 HP Cummins QSB5.9, and cruises comfortably at 16 knots. Other engine choices are available.

We build each boat to order, one boat at a time, one boat each year. These are custom boats, and as such there is no options “list”. We work with each customer to develop the equipment list that meets your needs and aligns with any preferences you have based on previous experience. Suffice it to say that these boats are exceptionally well equipped and set up to cruise extensively.
