CHANTY is a 56’ wishbone ketch designed by Bruce King and built by ZMI. Her construction is cold-molded wood with WEST epoxy resin. The interior features many curved shapes and raised panels. Despite her traditional appearance, CHANTY is high tech, with carbon fiber spars, rod rigging, and hydraulic controls for furling and trimming the sails. CHANTY draws 4’8” with her centerboard up, and displaces 48,000 pounds. We launched her in June, 1994, and she has since graced many magazines, including Yachting, WoodenBoat, Chesapeake Bay Magazine, and Sailing.
